John 1 and Truths About Christ

October 8, 2021

I was reading in John 1 today, and couldn’t help but notice how many truths about Christ are conveyed in this one chapter. I put them into list form for easy reference. Here it is:

He is God (vs. 1).

He made everything (vs. 3).

He is the author of life (vs. 4).

He is the Light that scatters darkness (vs. 5).

He was made flesh (vs. 14).

He was before John the Baptist and is honored above him (vs. 15, 30).

He is the only begotten who has seen the Father (vs. 18).

He is the LORD of the Old Testament (vs. 23).

He is the greatest possible master (vs. 27).

He is filled with the Holy Spirit (vs. 33).

He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (vs. 29, 36).

He is the Messiah (the Anointed One) (vs. 41).

He is the One about whom Moses in the Law, and the prophets, wrote (vs. 45).

He is the King of Israel (vs. 49).

He is the ladder between heaven and earth (vs. 51).

How wonderful is our Savior!
